Caltex signs a ten year lease with Macquarie
Office Trust
March 28, 2006
Caltex and Macquarie Office Trust have signed a ten year lease for
Caltex's new head office at 2 Market Street, Sydney.
Caltex has agreed to lease 9,220 square metres and with five high
rise floors in the building.
Caltex Managing Director and CEO Dave Reeves said the decision to
move Caltex's head office from the current location in the MLC
Centre at Martin Place was made following an assessment of the
future needs of the company.
"As part of our office requirements assessment process Caltex
consulted with employees to make sure our office accommodation
requirements meet their needs now and into the future," Mr Reeves
said.
Caltex called for accommodation proposals in August 2005 receiving
34 responses. The decision to sign with Macquarie Office Trust was
made based on a variety of factors including staff accessibility,
proximity to amenities, large floors and an innovative work
environment that accommodates new technology such as VOIP (voice
over internet protocols).
Macquarie Office Trust's Chief Executive Officer Simon Jones said
the new lease was another great example of how the Trust's asset
enhancement strategy attracts high calibre customers. "We're
delighted to welcome Caltex to 2 Market Street. The new building
improvements, location and large floors plates are proving popular
with new customers," he said.
Caltex will move office towards the end of 2006.
