Caltex welcomes confirmation of consumer advice on suitability of ethanol petrol blends
Caltex has welcomed today's release by the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Malcolm Turnbull of a study by Orbital Australia on the suitability of ethanol petrol blends for use in motor vehicles.

"The Orbital study confirms that advice being provided to motorists by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries is accurate," Caltex General Manager Marketing Mark Burrowes said. "Caltex uses this advice to inform its customers on whether they can safely use Caltex E10 Unleaded petrol.

"The outcome of the study means that consumers can have full confidence in the advice provided by Caltex on the use of E10 Unleaded. Most new vehicles and many older vehicles can use E10 Unleaded.

"Consumer confidence is one of the essential elements to increasing the use of ethanol blend petrol in Australia. Information on the suitability of E10 Unleaded for use in vehicles is provided on the Caltex website www.caltex.com.au and at service stations.

"Caltex has a network of 138 service stations selling E10 Unleaded in regional and metropolitan locations in Queensland, NSW and the ACT. Caltex is committed to expansion of E10 Unleaded sales and continuing to meet its annual targets under the Australian Government's Biofuels Action Plan.

"Caltex is also committed to increasing the use of biodiesel and Caltex New Generation Diesel containing 2 per cent biodiesel is being distributed to over 160 NSW service stations from Caltex's Newcastle terminal."
