North Coast mum wins a $50,000 holiday in
Caltex Vortex promotion
July 14, 2011
A recent fill-up at Caltex's Star Mart at Toormina has left a
Boambee East mother of two $50,000 richer and able to design her
dream holiday anywhere in the world.
Kellie Kinross entered Caltex's Designed to Clean competition in
May after buying Vortex 95 Premium Unleaded for her Suzuki
Swift.
In winning the major prize, Mrs Kinross can design her own holiday
with a Free-2-Travel voucher to the value of $50,000.
The competition was open to customers who purchased Vortex 98
Premium Unleaded, Vortex 95 Premium Unleaded or Vortex Premium
Diesel at participating Caltex sites across Australia during the
four week promotion period.
Mrs Kinross thanked the local Caltex staff member for encouraging
her to enter the competition, admitting that she would have
otherwise missed out because she didn't think she would win.
"We have never really tried entering many competitions, but thought
we would give this one a go because we always fill-up at Caltex,"
Mrs Kinross said.
"I guess, as they say, you've got to be in it to win it."
Mrs Kinross normally fills-up with Vortex 95 Premium Unleaded,
while husband Ray puts Vortex Premium Diesel in his Nissan
Patrol.
"I've never put anything else but premium fuel in my car since
new," Mrs Kinross said.
"The only time we ever fill-up anywhere else is when we can't get
to a Caltex - either when we're on holidays or those times when
floods block the road to our nearest Caltex at Toormina."
Tens of thousands of entries were received from around Australia
before the 31 May deadline, all competing for a total prize pool
valued at more than $150,000.
Caltex's National Manager Marketing Services, Michael Ridley-Smith,
said Vortex premium fuels were designed to clean critical parts of
the engine for better performance.
"Caltex injects unique additives into its premium fuels to help
remove built-up residue from critical parts of the engine, which
gives the vehicle more power, better acceleration and helps
maintain fuel economy," Mr Ridley-Smith said.
Caltex Retail Business Manager Simon Daniel will join Toormina
Store Manager Chris Seymour in presenting a cheque for $50,000 to
Mrs Kinross on Friday 15 July at the Caltex Star Mart Toormina at
