Cellusorb is an oil/fuel absorbent for use
on water. It is produced from recycled waste cellulose materials
and is 100% biodegradable
Cellusorb is highly oleophilic and will readily attach itself to
all forms of hydrocarbons whether in their original state or
partially emulsified or dissolved. It will absorb up to eighteen
times its own weight in oil based products.
APPLICATION
Cellusorb can be used in harbours, docks, wharves, marinas,
refuelling depots, beaches, bird sanctuaries, reefs and mangrove
areas or wherever a spill might occur or wash ashore.
Cellusorb may be used on its own or in the form of booms, pillows
or absorbent mats. It can be spread over the sides of vessels, used
in high pressure blowers or deployed from low flying
aircraft.
Wind and wave action assists the absorbents ability to wick up
hydrocarbons and unlike most absorbents, Cellusorb will absorb
trace amounts of oil and eliminate sheen.
Cellusorb can be retrieved by skimming or the use of a net. The
used material should be disposed of in accordance with local
legislation.
If a spill has been washed ashore it is recommended that Enretech-1
be spread over the surface of any rocks or sand that are oil
covered.
