Canopy ® Updates [Cotton]

• Canopy has been acknowledged as a key contributor to the success of cotton pest management programs over the past several seasons by one of Australia’s leading cotton consultants. • Canopy ® applied in mixtures with Roundup Ready herbicide, over Roundup Ready Flex cotton, has been trialled in a few locations. We looked at the effects of the mixture on the Flex cotton, weed control and green mirid control. Read the trial summaries in the 2006/07 cotton field trial update on the technical reports page.
• Anecdotally we’ve suspected Canopy ® provides ovipositional deterrence for several seasons. Now we know the extent of this effect – our trials conclusively show that Canopy ® reduces heliothis oviposition in cotton by half. • After a couple of decades of reliable performance in cotton defoliation, it’s time for some rejuvenation for this industry staple. In season 2008/09 you’ll be able to use D-C-Tron ® at only 1L/ha with your preferred cotton defoliant. Read summaries of the trials on the technical updates page.
