Introducing Caltex biodiesel blends
Caltex New Generation Fuels include diesel fuel enhanced with biodiesel. These blended fuels have been developed to help reduce Australia's reliance on fossil fuels.
Biodiesel is made from renewable feedstocks, such as canola oil and tallow. Biodiesel is then blended into diesel in varying ratios to create a number of biodiesel blends that meet different customer requirements.
At Caltex, strong product stewardship is in place to ensure that biodiesel is manufactured, transported, stored and blended to provide quality biodiesel blends to our customers.
In 2005 Caltex was one of the first to bring biodiesel blends to retail pumps when it launched the trial of Caltex Bio B5 Diesel (a 5% blend of biodiesel in diesel fuel) at select service stations in NSW.
Caltex supplies a Caltex Bio B5 (diesel enhanced with up to 5% biodiesel) to commercial truck and bus fleets.
Caltex's Bio B5 biodiesel blend meets Caltex's strict fuel quality standards and the Australian fuel quality standard for diesel.
