Matthew Halliday was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer in March 2020. He joined Caltex in April 2019 as Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to joining Caltex, Matthew enjoyed a successful career with Rio Tinto spanning 20 years, where he held senior finance and commercial roles across several divisions and geographies.
Matthew is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia and an MBA from London Business School.
Interim Chief Operating Officer
Louise Warner was appointed Interim Chief Operating Officer in March 2020. She previously held the role of Executive General Manager, Fuels & Infrastructure, responsible for ensuring competitive reliable fuel supply for our customers.
Louise joined Caltex in 1999 and her career has spanned a range of roles within the company, starting as a process engineer at the Kurnell refinery. Louise gained commercial and trading experience through her secondment to Chevron UK. Recently, she was responsible for successfully establishing Caltex Australia’s first overseas operations, Ampol Singapore, which includes the company’s global trading and shipping function.
Louise holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from the University of New South Wales.
Executive General Manager, Human Resources
Celina has over 25 years’ experience in human resources and was appointed the position of Executive General Manger, Human Resources on 1 April 2020.
Celina joined Caltex in 2008 and has held various senior roles during this time, including Head of Customer Service and Head of Procurement. Prior to Caltex, Celina held senior human resources positions at Toyota and other global organisations.
Celina holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Human Resources from the University of Western Sydney.
Chief Information Officer
Viv was appointed to the position of CIO December 2016 and is responsible for leading the technology transformation program at Caltex.
His 30 years of experience includes senior leadership positions in Australia, Asia and Europe, predominantly in the retail sector with the AS Watson Group, Tesco, KPMG and Dairy Farm International.
Viv holds a Master of Business Administration from Manchester Business School, a Master of Project Management from The University of Technology, Sydney and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Interim Chief Financial Officer
Jeff Etherington was appointed Interim Chief Financial Officer on 2 March 2020. He is responsible for finance, accounting, treasury, taxation and procurement. Jeff joined Caltex in November 2014 as Group Treasurer, before being appointed Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Group Treasurer in March 2019.
Prior to joining Caltex, Jeff spent over 15 years at Qantas Airways Limited, holding various senior roles including Group Treasurer and Head of Investor Relations. Before Qantas, Jeff spent four years working in treasury at Southcorp Limited, and six years in foreign exchange and trade finance at National Australia Bank Limited. Jeff was a Non-executive Director of Qantas Credit Union (now Qudos Bank) from 2008 to 2015.
Jeff is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and a Master of Applied Finance from Monash University. Jeff is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Executive General Manager, Legal and Corporate Affairs
Appointed as Executive General Manager, Legal and Corporate Affairs on 1 April 2020, Georgina manages Caltex’s legal, secretariat and compliance, corporate affairs and internal communications teams.
As General Counsel, she is responsible for managing legal risk for Caltex and providing legal advice to Caltex’s Board, CEO and broader leadership team. She is also Company Secretary to the Board.
Georgina, who joined Caltex in 2017, has over 20 years’ experience in advising on commercial, competition and corporate legal issues. Prior to Caltex, she held senior roles at Commonwealth Bank and Clayton Utz.
Georgina holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Bachelor of Laws and a Masters in Labour Law and Relations from the University of Sydney.
Executive General Manager, Strategy and Corporate Development
Appointed as Executive General Manager, Strategy and Corporate Development in November 2017, Alan manages Caltex’s strategy, corporate development, M&A and transformation activities.
Prior to joining Caltex, Alan held a senior position in the Oil and Gas department of Glencore plc, and prior to that spent more than a decade in private equity and investment banking, working in Sydney, London and Singapore.
Alan holds a Bachelor of Science (Business Administration) degree from the University of Bath and is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Executive General Manager, Convenience Retail
Joanne Taylor was appointed Executive General Manager of Caltex’s Convenience Retail business effective March 2019. An executive leader with over 20 years’ experience in the retail, QSR, hospitality and manufacturing sectors, Joanne brings significant experience in operations, franchising, supply chain, communications and HR.
Joanne joined the Caltex Executive Leadership team in 2016, responsible for Human Resources across the organisation. In this time, Joanne has been heavily involved in the transformation of Caltex’s retail network, including the specific challenge of accommodating the growth of the Convenience Retail workforce from 1000 store employees to over 5000 today.
Prior to joining Caltex, Joanne spent 11 years at McDonald's Australia in operations, franchise, people and supply chain roles.
