Caltex Australia fuels wishes of kids battling life threatening illnesses

08 May 2017

Caltex Australia today announced its 2016 Star Mart Wish Drive raised an incredible $166,000 for children’s charity Make-A-Wish.

Since 2013, Caltex staff and customers have supported Make-A-Wish by raising much needed funds to help make the wishes of seriously ill children and teenagers come true through the Star Mart Wish Drive.

In 2016, an impressive 649 stores located across Australia took part in the campaign. The month-long initiative, which ran between November and December last year, saw Caltex Star Mart sites raise funds for the charity with on-site activities and gold coin collections.

Caltex’s General Manager of Retail Operations, Karen Bozic, praised the generosity of all who contributed to the fundraising effort.

“As a proudly Australian company, it’s important for us to support the communities in which we work, live and operate,” said Ms Bozic.

“Make-a-Wish Australia are reigniting hope for sick children, and we’re proud to help them in their mission to make the wishes of these children come true.”

Mr Menses said Make-A-Wish Australia was thrilled with the outcome of the Star Mart Wish Drive.

“We are so grateful to all of the Caltex Star Mart customers who generously supported us through the Star Mart Wish Drive, and also to the staff who helped make this another successful campaign,” he said.

“As an organisation funded solely by donations, Make-A-Wish relies on the generosity and support of partners like Caltex Australia, and we thank everyone involved.”

These funds will help us make even more life-changing wishes come true for very sick kids and teenagers all over Australia.”
